Path to the Fire Island Lighthouse Poster
Found within the western-most part of the Fire Island National Seashore and right next to Robert Moses State Park is this lighthouse which has been there since the early part of the 1800s. Adjacent to the structure itself is a museum.
As for parking? One can park one’s car at the nearest parking lot of one of the beach entrances a few miles away. Something which means hiking for a long distance upon gravel. Otherwise one arrives at the island by ferry which also is a slight bit of a distance but much closer and easier to handle. Regardless of how you get there this sight is a nice one to experience if only just once.
